Autechre – Incunabula [2LP, Vinyl]

Originally released by Warp Records in 1993, Incunabula was the debut album by Sean Booth and Rob Brown and remains one of the essential works of Warp’s legendary Artificial Intelligence era.

An electronic incunabulum in the truest sense: the blueprint of what Autechre would become. Across tracks such as “Bike”, “Basscadet”, “Eggshell” and the magnificent closing piece “444”, the duo combines techno, electro and ambient textures with intricate rhythms and an unmistakably futuristic atmosphere.

More melodic and immediately accessible than much of their later work, Incunabula already contains the DNA of the increasingly abstract and experimental sound that would make Autechre one of the most influential acts in electronic music.

2025 UK repress on Warp Records [WARP LP17R], part of the Artificial Intelligence series. Presented as a double vinyl LP in a gatefold sleeve, with the iconic original artwork by The Designers Republic.
